Trombone, Mutes Percussion, Electronics
Trombonist, sound engineer, electronic enthusiast, family guy, educator - Jeff Albert is known as many things. In the Naked Orchestra, he is known for his whaling trombone sounds, rhythmic tapping of mutes on his stand, and experimental microphone delay. After receiving degrees from both Loyola and UNO, Albert went on to be the first graduate of PhD program in Experimental Music and Digital Media at LSU. He is particularly interested in using electronics as a tool for improvisation in jazz and other genres. Albert more recently started a weekly event at Blue Nile, Open Ears Music Series, where he sets the stage for new music and improvisation with no boundaries, and he often invites the Naked Orchestra to share or head the bill.
